Os mestres flamengos I
Highlights
The Mauritshuis owns a small but
exquisite collection of Flemish paintings from the 17th century. Flanders was
traditionally an important centre for the production of paintings. The art
market there was dominated by a number of versatile painters such as Rubens,
Jordaens and Van Dyck. They were in charge of large workshops where many pupils
and assistants worked.
